Fall Shorebird Photogrpahy Workshop
Fall migration of shorebirds heading south starts in July and lasts to almost November. There will be an exciting mix of post breeding and fresh juvenal plumage birds on this workshop. We'll spend four days at various locations in and around Grays Harbor in different costal habitats looking fro fall migrants. Our target birds are: Black Turnstones, Surfbirds,and Wandering Tattlers on the rock jetties; Sanderlings, Western Sandpipers, Black-bellied Plover, Dunlin on the beaches; American and/or Pacific Golden-Plovers in the short dune grasses' yellowlegs, phalaropes, dowitchers, willets, whimbrels, godwits and sandpipers on and around the local ponds. We'll also keep an yey out for rarer birds such as Buff-breasted Sandpiper, Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, Ruff, and anything else that might show up as a fall migrant. Plan on arriving at the hotel on August 19th for an orientation then the 20th through 23rd there will be four full days of photography, with four morning and four afternoon shooting sessions, where we will go to spots on the north and the south sides of Grays Harbor and one stop on Willipa Bay. We'll take a break in the middle of each day while the light is harsh and we'll have a couple of post-processing and image review sessions.

Reserve your spot in the workshop with a $500 deposit. Lodging and meals, during the workshop, are not included in the workshop fee. The typical workshop day has a morning and afternoon shooting session with a mid-day break. After we receive your registration, we'll send you a detailed information packet about your workshop, including what to bring, more specific details on the workshop structure, hotel rendezvous information, etc. We recommend you purchase travel insurance and will provide you with contact information.
